Castello di Magione Carpaneto

Carpaneto, the name of one vineyard, is planted to Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Gamay.  These varieties are vinified separately, then blended in appropriate proportions ( 50% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet, 20% Merlot, and 10% Gamay) to make a plush, medium-bodied, modern-style red.vCarpaneto combines a typical Italian raciness (good acidity) with a more international “fat” fruit character in a versatile, food friendly wine. Aging in French oak barrique rounds out the tannins and adds a toasty component to the flavor.

Carpaneto will match a wide variety of fare, including fish.  It is particularly well-suited to wild and/or gamey flavors, including truffle, mushrooms and herb-crusted roasts.
