Casata Monfort was established in 1945 by Giovanni Simoni. His grandson Lorenzo now runs the winery. The winery is in Lavis, a picturesque village north of Trento with a long tradition of wine production. The cellar is situated in Palazzo Monfort, once residence to the Counts of Melchiori, now a historic site.

The grapes for Casata Monfort wines come from the best vineyard locations within Val di Cembra and from the hills over Lavis and Trento. These grapes belong either to Casata Monfort or to vine growers who have been carefully selected for the quality of their product. Casata Monfort's expert winemakers advise each contracted vine grower through every stage of cultivation.
